In Sympathy

We received some very upsetting news today from our friend Steve. We met Steve very early in this journey when we first came to India and I have spoken of him in a number of posts. He became a friend and we have remained in contact, sharing our journeys, both the ups and downs. He has been so very supportive of us and we have been so excited to hear his progress towards becoming a father. Unfortunately today Steve's twin girls where still born. So we send Steve our heart felt condolences and offer him our love and support as he grieves for his lost angels. Being so far away makes it difficult to offer any support other than to know we are with you in spirit and can only offer our true sympathy. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

  1. Poor Steve. I hope you can try again, and succeed. And that the disappointment and pain eases soon.

Just out of interest, guys, is the twin thing a choice, or is it a side-effect? Can you choose to have only one from the start of the process or is it all up to fate?

  2. They norm here is to return at least 3 embryos during transfer from what we have been able to see. We did ask to only put one back but they really encourage 3. The Doctors tend to make these types of decisions and it is difficult to change their mind. This also seems true across the various clinics.
